FAQs about weekly classes

What happens at a class?  Most beginner's classes start with a guided meditation for relaxation, then there is a teaching on the topic for the evening, followed by question and answer.  To see examples of teachings, click on What to Expect at a Class and scroll down to see the video examples.  After class, many students choose to hang around to socialize over tea and snacks.

Do I have to register in advance?  No, you can drop in to any class.  All classes are designed to be self-contained, so you do not need to have attended the previous classes, and if you miss a few you can still come back without feeling "out of the loop".  (Foundation Program classes do require enrollment, but you can start by dropping in to a class to see if it's right for you.)

Do I have to come to each class?  No, come and go as you please.

Do I have to sit on the floor?  You can sit in a chair or on a cushion on the floor.

What should I wear?  Whatever is comfortable to you.

Do the classes cost money?  We request a donation for most classes we offer in order to cover our expenses -- such as rent, utilities, travel expenses, teacher care, and other basic needs.  If you become a regular at the Center, consider joining the Monthly Members program, a program that enables you to pay by the month and gives discounts on special events.
