"Happiness and suffering are states of mind, and so their main causes cannot be found outside the mind. The real source of happiness is inner peace. If our mind is peaceful, we will be happy all the time..." -- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso in the book Transform Your Life
Transform Your Life is a popular book by the world renowned author and modern-day Buddhist master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. A book that lives up to its title, it provides an in-depth look at Buddhist meditation and the Buddhist way of life in layman's terms.
Beginning in January 2010, we'll be delving in to the rich second half of the book, which focuses on topics such as:
- What is love?
- Developing compassion
- Dealing with difficult relationships
- Improving our good heart
Everyone is welcome to attend these classes, and there's no need to attend each one -- drop in at anytime as your schedule allows.
Class Format
Each week, we will begin with a guided relaxation meditation. After this, we will focus on a portion of Transform Your Life, with plenty of time for questions and discussion. Each class ends with a very brief second meditation to dedicate our class to benefiting others.
